2021 marks the 40th anniversary of Grand Center Inc. Since our first day supporting Grand Center Arts District back in May 1981, we have been working hard to create the conditions for a beautiful and thriving arts district in St. Louis, Missouri.
The film features the St. Louis Honey Bears Mural by artist fnnch. The St. Louis Honey Bears Mural, located at the Centene Center for the Arts, is owned by the Arts and Education Council and was made possible by the Gateway Foundation.
Grand Center Inc. only turns 40 once, so to celebrate, we will be launching new and exciting initiatives all year long.
Our Wayfinding initiative began last year with new banners in Strauss Park. The remaining elements will be installed later this spring. This initiative will enhance the sense of place within the District and further our goal of being recognized as an epicenter for the arts.
We are in the beginning planning stages to implement new street and pedestrian lighting throughout the District. This initiative will help us create a safer arts district for residents and visitors for years to come.
We continue to plan and adapt to the pandemic. Throughout the year, we will have opportunities to re-engage with the District safely. From public art, to membership opportunities, to programming, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
