2021 marked the 40th anniversary of Grand Center Inc. We celebrated by hosting our 40th Anniversary Gala, launching new public art initiatives, and paving the way to continue our work for the next 40 years.
The film features the St. Louis Honey Bears Mural by artist fnnch. The St. Louis Honey Bears Mural, located at the Centene Center for the Arts, is owned by the Arts and Education Council and was made possible by the Gateway Foundation.
Grand Center Inc. only turns 40 once, so to celebrate, we launched new and exciting initiatives throughout the entire year!
Our Wayfinding initiative began in 2020, with new banners in Strauss Park. The remaining elements were installed in the spring of 2021. This initiative enhanced the sense of place within the District and furthered our goal of being recognized as an epicenter for the arts.
We are in the beginning planning stages to implement new street and pedestrian lighting throughout the District. This initiative will help us create a safer arts district for residents and visitors for years to come.
In June of 2021, we launched our membership program, allowing members to engage with the District in a new and exciting way. To learn more about becoming a member, click here.
